The High Priestly Prayer
This Sunday, we will explore one of the most intimate and profound moments recorded in Scripture—Jesus' High Priestly Prayer in John 17. This prayer, offered on the eve of His crucifixion, reveals the heart of our Savior and the priorities He holds for His people.
The message will walk through four key pleas that Jesus makes to the Father: for His own glorification, for the empowerment of His followers, for their protection and sanctification as they live in a hostile world, and for the unity of all believers. These are not abstract theological ideas, but deeply personal and practical realities. Jesus prays not only for His disciples but for all who would come to believe in Him—including us.
We'll reflect on how Jesus glorified the Father by fulfilling His mission and how we, too, are called to live purposefully for God's glory. We will consider our identity as exiles in the world, sustained by the truth of God's Word, and sent on mission just as Christ was sent.
Finally, we'll be challenged to pursue unity in the body of Christ, a unity that reflects the very nature of the Trinity and serves as a witness to the world.
This sermon is a call to live as those who have been prayed for by Christ Himself—living by faith, known by love, and a voice of hope.
See you Sunday,
