Children’s Ministry Director
(Part-Time, Paid Position)
Overview: Mosaic Church is a small, Gospel-centered congregation with a growing number of young children, primarily ages 2–4, and new babies on the horizon. We are seeking a part-time Children’s Ministry Director to lead and oversee our children’s ministry, which takes place during the sermon portion of our Sunday worship service. This individual will provide leadership, structure, and care to ensure a Christ-centered and engaging experience for our children.
Reports to: Elder/Deacon Team Designated Representative
Hours: Part-time (specifics to be discussed based on need and availability)
Compensation: Paid position (monthly stipend, frequency of pay to be determined)
Key responsibilities
- Leadership & Oversight
- Develop and implement a vision for children’s ministry that aligns with the mission and values of Mosaic Church.
- Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers who serve in children’s ministry.
- Provide leadership and accountability for the children’s ministry team.
- Ensure safe and nurturing care for infants and toddlers as needed.
- Gospel-Centered Teaching
- Provide developmentally appropriate, Gospel-centric teaching for children.
- Encourage and model Christ-dependent teaching that emphasizes God’s grace and the life of Christ in us.
- Foster an environment where children can begin to know and experience the love of God.
- Organization & Administration
- Create and maintain a consistent weekly schedule and classroom structure.
- Ensure policies and procedures are in place for the safety and well-being of all children (e.g., child check-in/out, background checks for volunteers, health protocols).
- Communicate effectively with church leadership, volunteers, and parents.
- Family Engagement
- Partner with parents to equip and encourage them as the primary disciples of their children, providing resources and opportunities for families to grow spiritually, and communicating regularly with parents about ministry updates, events, and opportunities for involvement.
Qualifications
- A deep, personal relationship with Jesus and a clear understanding of the Gospel of grace.
- A passion for discipling children and seeing Christ formed in them.
- Demonstrated leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Experience in children’s ministry or early childhood education preferred.
- Ability to lead and teach from a posture of dependence on Christ.
- Regular attendance as a congregant of Mosaic Church.
