Life in the Spirit
Dear Saints,
Romans chapter 8 is the grand buffet of all our favorites – life in the Spirit, our Abba-child relationship with the Father, our suffering and groaning wrapped in hope, the Spirit interceding for us when we have no words, the famous “all things work together,” the declaration that “we are more than conquerors,” and the beautiful and exhaustive pronouncement that nothing can separate from the love of God.
This truly is one of the most comprehensive and descriptive passages on who we are as believers, living detached from the Old Covenant of the law and married to the New Covenant of grace.
If there is one overarching concept in Romans 8, it is this: “You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you" (verse 9). We will explore this, along with the many wonderful ripples it creates.
Please take 5-6 minutes before Sunday and read Romans 8 in a translation you normally don't use. This will keep you from skimming over the chapter due to your familiarity with it.
Blessings on you!
Jamie
