Righteousness by Faith
Dear Mosaic Family,
I hope you all are experiencing the nearness and grace of God as you make yourself available for missional moments and opportunities to share His love. He will do it all through you!
As we look forward to our time together this coming Sunday, I wanted to share a few thoughts to prepare our hearts and minds for the sermon.
Last Sunday, we had the opportunity to hear a message by Dr. Andrew Farley on Romans 9, where we learned about God's sovereign choice in fulfilling His promises. He encouraged us to consider that this chapter is not about individual election to salvation but about God's historical plan to include Gentiles in His family, as foretold to Abraham and prophesied throughout the Old Testament. He showed us how God's choice to extend His mercy to all people, not just to Israel, demonstrates His faithfulness and the magnitude of His redemptive plan.
This coming Sunday, we'll delve into Romans 10, where Paul emphasizes that righteousness is received by faith, not by our own efforts or intentions. This is a powerful reminder that our best efforts and good intentions cannot make us more righteous. It's only through faith that we are made righteous in God's eyes. I encourage you to read through Romans 10 a few times this week and come prepared to reflect on why this message of faith is so important for us to share with the world.
I'm looking forward to worshiping together and exploring this marvelous, good news with you all.
Your brother in Christ,
John
