Many Gifts, One Church

Aug 11, 2024    Ron Miller, Marcy Fenn

As we continue our study of Romans 12 this week, Paul is focused on the primary reason for his letter to the church in Rome – the unity of the Jewish and Gentile believers who comprise the church. He speaks of the “different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us” (Romans 12:6) that exist in this diverse body of believers but emphasizes how they come together in God's design to form one body, unified in purpose and dependent on each other to function as He intended. We've spoken in the past about spiritual gifts, and this passage of the Scriptures is one of four in Paul's letters where he explicitly mentions the gifts that are accorded to Christians only through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

After a brief recap of last week's message, Marcy Fenn and I look forward to unpacking this section of Romans 12 with you as we continue studying Paul's description of aspirational Christian living!

Blessings to you,

Ron
